THE FACTS – CASE TIMELINE October 5, 2005: Christie was last seen at 1:13a.m - Surveillance video showed Christie walking into the parking lot of Thunder Valley Casino, in Lincoln, California; after having exited the Casino front doors. Surveillance captured Christie walking with a man identified as Mario Garcia, age 53, resident of Auburn California. October 9, 2005 Garcia is first questioned by Placer County sheriff's detectives. October 11, 2005 Wilson's mother, Debbie Boyd takes part in her first TV interview regarding her daughter's disappearance. October 14, 2005 Mario Garcia is arrested on weapons charge. October 18, 2005 Garcia is arraigned on the weapons charge and his attorney denies he has anything to do with disappearance of Wilson. October 24, 2005 DNA links Mario Garcia to Christie. October 28, 2005 Mario Garcia is formally charged with the murder of Wilson. Reward offered for $10,000 for info leading to Christie's whereabouts. November 1, 2005 Garcia pleads not guilty to murder charges. November 4, 2005 Reward increases to $35,000. November 7, 2005 Mario's bail set at $3M November 30, 2005 Garcia's murder case is moved from Placer County to Sacramento County due to pre-trial publicity. September 12, 2006 Attorneys begin questioning prospective jurors. September 18, 2006 Ten men and two women are chosen as jurors. Three men and two women are chosen as alternate jurors. September 19, 2006 Trial begins with opening arguments. September 26, 2006 Wilson's mother, Debbie Boyd takes the stand. October 3, 2006 Jurors hear DNA evidence. November 6, 2006 Prosecution rests its case. November 7, 2006 Garcia takes the stand. November 9, 2006 Defense rests its case. November 13, 2006 Jurors hear closing arguments. November 15, 2006 Jury begins deliberations. November 16, 2006 Verdict Reached - Mario Garcia convicted of Murder in the 1st Degree for the Murder of Christie. November 21, 2006 Judge rules that 1981 felony case involving Mario Garcia constitutes a strike. Mario Garcia advised he will be sentenced under California Law as a 2nd Striker...Doubling his sentence. January 11, 2007 Mario Garcia sentenced to 59 years to life - one day after what would have been Christie's 29th birthday. Interesting that Christie's birthday was 1/10, Garcia sentenced on 1/11, Garcia's assault on previous victim on 1/12 - how interesting the sentencing date fell between the date Christie was murdered and the date Garcia kidnapped and raped a previous victim. Is there a God - indeed there is !! Currently Mario Garcia remains incarcerated at Deaul Prison in Tracy, California (Inmate: F-56691). Mario claims he's fearful for his life and is currently in Protective Custody. Given the overcrowding of jails, no date has been set for his transport to his permanent prison location; we're hearing Kern.
